Project Overview
We, at Enhance Exteriors, had the pleasure of working with a client based in Great Barford, Bedfordshire, on behalf of Bedfordshire Windows. The project involved a comprehensive exterior renovation of their property, with a focus on replacing the old, worn-out cladding with new, high-quality Cedral cladding.
Scope of Work
The project required us to undertake the following tasks:
- Removal of Old Cladding: The first step involved the careful removal of the existing cladding, which had become tired and worn over time.
- Installation of New Battens and Breathable Membrane: To ensure the longevity and durability of the new cladding, we installed new battens and a breathable membrane. This not only provided a solid foundation for the cladding but also enhanced the overall insulation and weather resistance of the property.
- Fitting of Cedral Cladding: We then proceeded to fit the Cedral cladding, a high-quality, durable material known for its aesthetic appeal and longevity.
- Vent Strip Installation: To allow the building to breathe and prevent any moisture build-up, we installed a vent strip. This ensures a healthy airflow between the cladding and the underlying structure.
- Window Trimming: Finally, all the windows were trimmed (the reveals) with the same Cedral product as the cladding. This provided a consistent and harmonious look to the entire property.
Outcome
The project was a success, resulting in a significant enhancement of the property’s exterior aesthetics and functionality. The new Cedral cladding not only revitalized the look of the property but also improved its insulation and weather resistance.
